A few months back I was invited to talk about the "GeoWeb" at the Texas GIS Forum. Somehow I pulled a great slot - first presenter in the first session following the keynote by Dr. Bill Gail from the Virtual Earth group.  I chose to talk about "Usability in the GeoWeb" - you can download the presentation (as PDF) at SlideShare.net and view it below. The basic gist of the talk is that traditional Web Development groups are moving into our market space. In order to avoid having them "eat our lunch", we need to adopt some of their techniques to make sure we build usable, high-performance applications. Check it out.

Dave, Great talk today. People are now confused as to whether to contact you for expertise in app development or cool slide show design - I am not kidding.....ok, just a little, but several folks commented on how much they liked what you had to say and how you communicated. Good show. BTW our development crew proposed adopting an agile approach to development 18 months ago - about when I first gleaned its meaning after reading your blog. We have IMO successfully adopted it - so much so that we don't consider any other approach.

Thanks again for coming down to Austin - we hope you were able to make some contacts and we look forward to staying in touch with you. cheers-Jim

I see one of my apps screenshot in your presentation... does that mean I'm famous?

Dave, great slides. Was the talk video taped? I'd enjoy hearing what you said along with the slides.

Thanks for posting!
James
